A certified public accountant (CPA) based in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Jerry Alavena joined Intercos Group as a senior accountant in 2019. In addition to his monthly financial reporting of expenses by cost center analysis and monthly accrual of expenses, he is responsible for filing quarterly sales tax and highway use taxes, among other ad-hoc reporting duties. A detail-oriented accounting professional with extensive experience in consumer products and the manufacturing industry, Jerry Alavena played a driving role in consolidating and uploading all financial statements into the Oracle Hyperion Financial Management system.
Jerry Alavena served as a staff accountant at Valeant Pharmaceutical Corporation. He helped Valeant reconcile the balance in their fixed-asset subsidiary ledger with the summary-level account in the company’s general ledger, among other achievements. His other responsibilities involved aligning finance policies and processes with internal controls, logging fixed-asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system, and preparing schedules for prepaid marketing and expenses.
Jerry Alavena studied accounting and finance at the University of San Martín de Porres. He has maintained his CPA designation since 2010.
